This index tracks how wholesale food prices for UK restaurants are moving, built from a basket of 25 of the most-ordered products in our catalog. It's rebased to 100 at Sep 2025. As of Aug 2026, the index stands at 103.3 — up 3.3% since the start of the series.

Methodology
The index is an equal-weighted basket of 25 high-volume products from our UK catalog, each with a sufficient price history. Every product is rebased to 100 at its first monthly reading; the basket is averaged each month, and the overall series is rebased to 100 at Sep 2025. We use the lowest weekly wholesale reading per month to avoid outliers.
This is a directional restaurant food cost tracker built from Foodomarket supplier data — not an official statistical index. Unlike national ONS/DEFRA series, it reflects UK wholesale prices at the supplier level.
